The founder's journey

From teaching technology to building technology.

The founder’s work connects two complementary directions: helping people learn technology through SkillsPark, and building technology for education through EdixPark.

SkillsPark Tech Hub was built around a simple belief: technology becomes most valuable when people can use it to build, solve problems and create opportunity. The work connects practical learning, technology services and education innovation.

Learning philosophy

Learning how to learn.

Muhammad-Dayyib Idris | Founder's perspective

We have spent long hours learning, researching, experimenting and building practical solutions. One of the most important lessons behind SkillsPark also comes from my own journey.

Most of the skills I have developed came through online courses, tutorials, documentation and practical work. That experience taught me the power of self-directed learning. It also taught me that people may need different kinds of support to become comfortable learning independently.

Different paths to understanding.

That is why we try to understand our learners from the beginning. Some become comfortable exploring on their own and may benefit from carefully selected online resources, guides, PDFs, tutorials and practical assignments that extend learning beyond the classroom.

Others may initially benefit from closer guidance, repeated demonstrations, questions, feedback and direct practice. The support can change as their understanding and confidence develop. Neither approach makes a learner less capable; the aim is to help each person understand, practise, create and gradually continue learning independently.

Confidence beyond the classroom.

We do not want students to depend on us forever. Our goal is to help them develop enough understanding, confidence and curiosity to keep learning when an instructor is no longer beside them.

Learning one technology is useful. Learning how to keep learning can open possibilities throughout a person's life.

The goal is not only to teach someone a skill. It is to help them become capable of learning the next one.

Community & purpose

Skills can change what people believe is possible.

At SkillsPark, our vision has always been bigger than teaching people how to use technology. I want skills to represent possibility: the confidence that knowledge, practice and determination can help a person create, solve problems and build something useful.

As SkillsPark has become more visible in our community, I have seen the name become a point of curiosity and motivation for some of the young people around us. They ask what we are building, why we are doing it and how they can learn or become involved. Those conversations matter to me. A brand gains meaning through its work, values and the opportunities people associate with it.

Reflection & improvement

Progress needs time to be reviewed, not only spent.

One practice I value is creating time to review the work behind me before rushing into what comes next. Reflection makes it easier to see what moved forward, what did not work, what should change and where more attention is needed.

Time is one of our most limited resources. Giving yourself a quiet moment to review how it was used can turn experience into better decisions and create space for new ideas.

Lessons from the journey

Three ideas I keep returning to.

01

Give meaningful work time.
Important things rarely become strong overnight. Building skills, trust, experience and useful work takes patience and sustained effort.

02

Learn how to move through failure.
Failure can become useful when it is examined rather than hidden. The goal is not to avoid every setback, but to learn, adapt and continue with better understanding.

03

Go looking for opportunity.
People cannot respond to work they never encounter. Share the idea, enter new rooms, speak to people, ask questions and look actively for the opportunities that match what you are building.
